Choosing the perfect wedding centerpieces can be quite a task! Most people go the traditional route by using flowers or candles, but that doesn't mean you can't consider a more creative option for the table décor at your wedding reception—or rehearsal dinner and bridal shower!

A favorite of ours? The wine bottle centerpiece! When used as wedding décor, glass bottles can add an elevated yet rustic feel to any tablescape. They can be adapted to any wedding style, whether you're spray painting them gold for a glam touch or adding a customized logo with your and your partner's initials. Not to mention: This creative idea offers a way to save some money on floral arrangements—hello, DIY project!—since it requires fewer, more expensive blooms. Plus, who doesn’t love wine?!

If you’re tempted by the idea of using wine bottle centerpieces but aren’t sure where to begin, here are 14 creative takes on the budget-friendly trend.

Utilizing wine bottles as centerpieces doesn't mean you can’t incorporate other details that draw the eye up. Take this wedding as proof that placing extra-long floral stems in bottles can make an additional statement. This idea is especially impactful when combining vibrant florals with a clear base, as shown here.

Obsessed with gold or metallic hues? Take some inspiration from this real wedding. Spray painting wine bottles to match your color scheme creates a uniform look and adds a touch of modern glamour to a tablescape. If your venue allows open flames, place long candlesticks in the bottle openings for an additional romantic touch.

There’s something about the simplicity of a long table dotted with wine bottles that always feels romantic and intimate. Bring that feeling to your wedding by placing bottles of your choice on each table. Your guests will appreciate both the ambiance and convenience of having wine bottles close by.

If you want to use wine bottles to create something that serves as a focal floral display, consider incorporating them into your seating chart. While not technically on the reception table, this idea—shown here using a ladder as a base—is sure to be a focal point at any reception.

Trade clear bottles for colored glass, such as bold green or deep burgundy, to add a contrasting pop of color to the table. This photo is proof that adding some neutral florals or pampas grass to the bottles is a great way to add texture as well. Also, check out this creative runner made of real fruit!

Adding some gorgeous bottles of sparkling water can be a way to create detail and texture in the center of the table. Not to mention, this can eliminate some table service and keep your guests hydrated throughout the night.

Take detail-orientedness to the next level by adding custom labels to the wine served at your reception. Rather than looking messy or out of place, the bottles will look beautiful, intentional, and part of your wedding vision when placed on the table. Plus, these would make a wonderful wedding keepsake after the final course!

Incorporate pops of soft color by choosing bottles in pastel hues. Balance the brighter shades by adding greenery to the bottles or bright floral details to complement the pastels.

Not excited by flowers or candles? Take some inspiration from this wedding and pair wine bottles with pampas for a warm, bohemian aesthetic. The tall grasses add even more height to the display.

Pair glass bottles with simple greenery to create a woodland vibe on every table. Place each centerpiece on a piece of wood for an even warmer, more rustic feel.

If you're looking for a more cohesive vibe, consider color coordinating the wine bottles with your wedding colors and using them for all your centerpiece needs—table numbers, florals, and more.
